PowerPanic does not work properly (for me)

Hi! I am trying to test the PowerPanic feature, as described in the Prusa video:

  • Started a print from an SD card

  • During a print switched off the printer using a switch on the power line (NOT the switch on the PSU)

  • Turned the switch back on

  • The head re-homes and heats the bed and the nozzle

  • The head goes back to the position where it was in the moment the print was interrupted

  • The print does not resume. The head just stays there, while the heaters are on.
  • Firmware: 3.2.1-576

I thought that you had to press the button on the display. I thought I read that it will come up on the display asking if you want to resume the print. I could be wrong.

I think the power panic logic in the PSU sees if you push the on/off switch or if you are pulling the plug.
Pushing the button on the power line is the same as pushing the on/off button on the prusa, the power lines can only break one mains wire. (phase)
Neutral and Ground still get through to the power panic board.
A power outage or a power cable pull results in all 2 main lines cut. (phase + neutral)

I don't have a power panic board in my clone so i can't check, but here's the power panic board, if someone can make more sense of of it than me.

Thank you for the elaborate explanation, but pulling out the plug is said (by Prusa) to be a bad option for testing the PowerPanic, since it induces arching which might trigger the panic event multiple times. Nevertheless, I tried also that, but it didn't work either (produced the same result).

    Page 36 of the manual ( https://www.prusa3d.com/downloads/manual/prusa3d_manual_mk3_en.pdf ) says
Power panic doesn't work if you interrupt the print with the on/off power switch.

PP is off in your settings menu perhaps?
If that ain't working, then this should be a issue for the Prusa Chat. (they will tell you to upgrade the FW and do a factory reset)

I am not talking about the switch on the PSU, but the switch on the extension cord. I followed exactly the procedure shown by Prusa: and it still does not work.

I could not find that setting in the menu.

I talked to them, but they recommend testing with their original gcode. 😆 I will do that tomorrow, and then I'll have a nice chat again with the support.

I can confirm this situation - does exactly the same here: heating, head goes to last position and stays there, nothing happens.
Power panic DOES NOT work in 3.2.1...
Also occasional bed leveling fail occurs...
