Power Supply just died

Anyone have their power supply fail on them?  The case got hot and the fuse blew.  I replaced with another fuse and it blew that one as well.  My printer had been running great for a long time.  Today I just tried printing PETG, and was running bed at 85 deg and hot end at 255.  I never ran it this hot before, but the printer should be able to handle this no problem.

Super frustrating, I cant even find a good way to contact prusa for support.

so do I have a bad supply, or was I overloading it?  I wouldnt think that running it that hard should cause this issue.

Prusa support is sending me a new supply.  Hopefully the one I had was just bad, and I never pushed it just printing PLA.  As soon as I started with PETG, using much higher temps, it failed.  It didnt fail catastrophically thank god, it just popped.  Replacement fuses pop too.  Maybe in a few weeks I will get the replacement from prusa.

Mean Well makes a dandy 350 watt PSU to tide you over until the replacement arrives.

It is about $33 on Amazon.

Yes I actually bought one.  I will move it to my FT-5 once I get the replacement.  My FT-5 has 120vac heated bed so its draw will be nothing.

Thanks

I have one with the old style and I am replacing it.  I like the replaceable power panic cable.

I wish there were a way to add Power Panic to the Mean Well. Someone needs to sell an adapter board...

Ironically, I have my original power panic boards installed, but don't use power panic. On one machine, I didn't even bother hooking it back up. A UPS takes care of brief power fails and generator power is only 30 seconds away.

@charles-h13

FT-5 is a folgertech larger format printer, does 300x300x400mm.. its a beast and requires a lot of tweaking unlike the prusa, that just works all the time.
