Power-fail restart failures

I posted elsewhere on the forum regarding a malfunction of the power fail restart feature stating that following a brown-out the printer prompted me if I wanted to continue, to which I answered "YES". The printer then tried to move instantly but, due to the nozzle having cooled and having oozed a little, the nozzle was fixed to the print and the print subsequently failed 60% into a 30 hour print!! Then, a week later another brown-out occurred overnight and the printer stopped but failed due to a MIN-TEMP error. I am mystified as to why this happens other than the feature does not take into account the pre-set temperatures.

Any thoughts would be appreciated as my print jobs are very long at the moment, anything from 20 to 70 hours and such failures can be expensive, especially as several use carbon fibre filament.

RE: Power-fail restart failures

The printer has a problem with its firmware.  Something Prusa hasn't taken the time to look at and resolve.

If you live in a region that suffers brown outs, a UPS or autoleveling transformer is really the best option for ensuring long duration prints succeed.  Another option is a power factor correcting power supply: it may handle brownouts better than the stock supply.

Sola is one brand of ferroresonant power conditioners (expensive, but they work well).
