I've compared the texture with and without glue for ABS, and it looks pretty much the same.

Sometimes I'll let the PEI be without glue for an ABS print, but it only works well with small prints dead center of the bed. For large prints, gluestick seems to work perfectly.

I dig the texture, though. I have a powder coating setup, and I'm curious as to how they get the texture. I feel like I could throw some spring steel sheets on the plasma router, powder coat them, and get a nice result.

I found trying to print with PETG with a bed temperature lower than 80 caused my print to detach prematurely, with it at 85, I have to let the bed cool down before I can get the print off, although full width prints if narrow, can curl up at the ends if the sheet is not meticulously clean.

Currently building a lack enclosure for PC printing and reprinting my skelestruder parts in case I have an blob of doom, but seeing how much my printing has improved since last year when I printed my skelestruder the first time, I'm tempted to replace it with the new parts I've started re-printing. But also since I printed those parts for my first skelestruder, I now have a skelestruder and 0.9 Deg motors on X and Y and a properly calibrated printer.

Normal people believe that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

This is what the texture on my build plate looks like close up. WA-11 plate.

That's way different from my Prusa powder-coated sheet that came with my MK3S. Mine resembles a surface with little random pits in it. And mine has always had perpetual adhesion problems unless I wash the sheet every couple of weeks or every 10 prints, whichever is soonest. Yours looks like it has a better texture for adhesion.

How'd you get that picture? I couldn't get a clear shot even in 'macro' mode on my phone.

WA-15 textured sheet. From the low angle view "a surface with little random pits in it" describes it well.

I mostly print PLA on it without adhesion issues. I haven't touched my smooth sheet since receiving this. Rarely wipe with IPA99.

My last 'big' PLA print had a 77mm dia base and while the sheet was still near 60c I was able to remove the sheet from the magnetic bed by just pulling on the model.

Guess I'm joining vintagepc as one of the lucky ones in the sheet lottery.

Find and place phone at your phone's minimum focus distance; if you go too close it can't focus. Stabilize phone with more than just hands. Lighting. Then crop out the stretched parts of the image. Prob the best we can do with just phone cameras.
