Pinda Probe Question

Before any print the pinda probe calibrates by checking 9 cal points on head bed. Recently on probe 7 (top left of heat bed) it takes 2 tries before going on to the next point.

Any idea why this would be happening all of a sudden and ways to troubleshoot? Trying to catch this before it becomes a bigger issue down the road.

RE: Pinda Probe Question

If you're using recent firmware, you should enable 7x7 mesh bed leveling in the settings menu. If the extruder pauses during leveling, it means there's either something on the nozzle or sheet causing it to bump the surface, or the printer itself is vibrating due to resonating at the movement frequency. The pause allows the printer movement to stop before continuing (as opposed to aborting, which was really annoying). So long as it continues, you don't need to worry about it. If it only started recently, determine if you might have moved the printer or even adjusted it slightly to a position where it's more prone to vibration. Try moving it slightly. You might investigate reducing vibration on the printer to reduce print artifacts.

Just another data point. A few retries on bed leveling is really normal, and nothing to worry about.

If it gets serious - the printer will let you know.

Proceed with caution. Vibration can become a bit of an obsession.
