PINDA is stuck - can't move down (or up)

I can no longer xyz calibrate my printer.  The challenge happens when the printer head comes down the z and the PINDA tries to detect the upper left spot before moving to the middle.  It can't find this spot.  Consistently the nozzle ends up cutting into the sheet of paper.

Prior to me screwing up calibration, I had checked the PINDA was working (which is how I realized it is an inductive sensor).

I can no longer adjust the PINDA.   When I unscrew the retaining holder pretty much all the way, the PINDA STILL won't move down.  It's stuck.  Seriously stuck.  I am looking for advice on how to get the PINDA to move down because I suspect it is 1mm too high to detect the point on the bed (?).  Thank you.

Had this happen on one occasion and I was able to take a screwdriver and “carefully” and slightly pry apart the mounting (clamp).

If you break it though you’ll need another part, so I wont be responsible.....Wish I knew a better way...

Had this same issue. It looks like the PINDA clamp was fused together, which I would understand if I was printing PETG or ABS, but I've only been printing PLA.

I ended up taking an Xacto knife and slicing along the ridges at the back of the printer and slightly jarring it open.
