Phaetus Dragonfly BMO - usage without collet clip?

Maybe this is off-topic, as no Prusa part, but :

I'm having serious problems with my 3ED V6. So, I wanted to swap to a Phaetus Dragonfly BMO. But there is a collet clip on it... which prevents it to fit into the MK3S.

Should I just assemble it without the clip? There is no information to be found nowhere!

Thank you

btw the fact that the normal  v6 e3d shipped with the Mk3 doesn't come with a collet should not be taken as one isnt needed.  I used to get issues with the ptfe tube moving often until i printed myself a collet clip and fitted it. Zero problems after that.

Personally I think it should come with one, after all e3d ship V6 extruders with them, so the manufacturer obviously thinks they should.

Without one its possible for the ptfe to shift over time and then you are just asking for a jam.

I know it's a dragon not a dragonfly, but I put a Phaetus Dragon on mine WITH the collet clip and it fitted fine.

Are you sure it's in the right place; there is a collet clip on the E3d as well, so there should be sufficient clearance for it.

Hi

I'm pretty confused now.

AFAIK, and I have the MK3S with the 3ED V6 Hotend.... There is no collet clip at all? I remember this to be an known thread here in this forum, why someone's designing such a piece without clip

My printer sadly, but definitely has no clearance for a clip to fit in...

Thank you very much

Here a photo from the Phaetus - and the clearance shown of the MK3S.

... And no, the V6 definitely has/had no Clip on its collet.

Best k

I found the same issue installing a Phaetus Dragon in my MK3S+.

Problem solved cutting the protruding left part of the clip. After trimming isn't so easy to remove the clip, but this isn't something that you must do often.
