Persistent Printing Trouble - MK3 with MMU - HELP!

I've been printing with the MK3 since January (2020), and added the MMU in March.

Often the prints are flawless and beautiful.

Now, I can't print very often without getting an MMU Failure.  70+ failures in the last month or so.

Often the failure seems to be related to the hot end, though also, inability to load filament

Most recently, the filament was positioned down to the hot end, but not inside... I disconnected the tube, and the filament was stuck just inside the far end of the tube (just before the hot end.). Pulling it out by hand, I found a slightly expanded cylinder at the end, about 2.2mm in diameter and 2.6mm long.  Also,60 mm back on the filament are a pair of chew marks, as if the bond tech gears were grinding on it.

I really need a working printer.

Is there paid, professional support (in English) by phone or Zoom?

Firmware: 3.9.0-3421

EINSy_10a

E3Dv6full

Date:May 18 2020

Fil. sensor v.:0.3 or older

MMU2 connected

FW: 1.0.6-372

Thanks!

Dave

Is there a knowledgeable, paid consultant with fair or better English skills who would work this through with me via Zoom or phone?

RE: Persistent Printing Trouble - MK3 with MMU - HELP!

OK, my panic has ended.

After searching on Google, I found a post in the Forum that I did not find in the Forum's search (here).

I easily removed the MMU and disconnected it's data cable (a multi-wire header) and power/ground wires from the Einsy board (inside the little cabinet.)

On restart, the printer reverted to being a plain old MK3, and I've had a flawless 5-hour print.  The next print is in progress, and I predict success.

In the end, I needed a good printer - and I still think the MK3 is a great printer.

The MMU has been problematic for me from the start.  I expect I assembled it in-expertly.  It took me a full day to do it (as an indication of my skill, and/or the process length)

That said, I would have been happy to pay for expert assembly if that would have made for a good-functioning MMU.

For me, the MMU was an extra.  I had planned to use it for soluble support material.  I've found other solutions, including the free MeshMixer software from Autodesk to hand-craft support that are easier to remove than those auto-generated by PrusaSlicer.

I'm back in business.

Prusa folks, I'd welcome any advice on how to make the MMU as straight-forward as the printer itself.  In my hands, it's not yet there.

Thanks for a great printer, though.
