PEI Sheet Failing?

So just came back after leaving the printer running a print over the weekend (successful print) and not sure if my smooth PEI sheet is biting the dust or not. There's two spots with what appears to be bubbling and after I finally got a new print semi successfully going seeing spots on my bed and first layer isn't the same as usual. Room temps, if it might matter, went from normal room temp (70fish) down towards 45f over the weekend.

Thoughts? I'm half wondering if the pla might have been trying to warp and the PEI stuck to well. Sheet is only about half a year in use but it's been the only sheet I've been using.

Yes, you had strong adhesion resisting warping.

In the ordinary way those will self heal over the next few prints BUT if you are intending to print multiple repeats of the same model you must move it to new places on the bed or those spots will fail.

Cheerio,

RE: PEI Sheet Failing?

That would explain at least a little bit. I've been pumping out card kits in preparation for an event at my school and then suddenly had issues after finishing a different print to utilize the weekend time since it was a long print. I did just give the sheet a wash with soap and water and I'm letting it finish air drying to get what physically drying might not have gotten.

So should I be wary of overnight prints till winter is over if I can't get the default HVAC schedule changed?

Doesn't look bad. As diem said, most "bubbles" self heal. I would also give the sheet a good scrub with hot water and dish washing soap. And perhaps consider ordering a new sheet, because they don't last forever, even under best circumstances.
