PEI sheet delamination

Hi Guys,

I recently did a long 30+ hour print, using Hatchbox PETG filament, using generic PETG preset in PrusaSlicer. The temperatures were the defauls, 90C plate and 240C nozzle. Before printing, I cleaned the print sheet with window cleaner to remove any grease. The print came off really easily, the adhesion wasn't strong, however, I noticed that there are little bubbles on the PEI sheet after the print (photos attached). The print was almost all the way to the edges of the print area, and it was the first time I'd printed so close to the edges. Any ideas what I might have done wrong to cause this delamination? it looks like little bubbles of plastic that no longer adhere to the metal.

It looks like your print was trying hard to warp but didn't quite manage it.  As long as you don't print again in the same place until they have subsided the bubbles should disappear in a few prints... In time the tendency will diminish.

Cheerio,

If you're going to print PETG on the smooth plate you should use some of the provided glue stick. It doesn't take much! I put down  a few swipes and then use a damp clean rag to spread it around the print area then let it dry off. The bubbles will go away after some more printing. I moved to a textured plate for my PETG prints and never looked back!!!

Those bubbles will soon subside.  I agree that a release agent (glue, Layerneer, etc) should be used with PETg.
