PE SLIC3R always estimate time incorrectly
this is every print, i dont have track of the old ones, but it is always off. current print says 2h11m in slicer, print is currently running in octoprint via USB, 2hr elapsed with 40 minutes (calculated estimate - best accuracy) remaining.
ran a print that slic3r said would take 11hr last night, took 17hr
is there something settings i can adjust for better accuracy? i would assume that the slic3r PE has all the information to accurately estimate, acceleration, speed, etc. what is going on and can I do anything to fix it?

Which version of Slic3r are you using?

Are you by any chance running in stealth mode?
Stealth mode will take longer than normal, but depending on the model it can take a little or a lot longer.

does the slicer time estimate take into account that you have Octoprint handling the gcode over a USB serial port?
as far as I am aware, it estimates the time taken from SD card files with no USB data management delays

it was stealth mode, disabled and everything is spot on. Thanks for all replies

The upcoming Slic3r will calculate the time estimates twice: Once for the normal mode, and second for the stealth mode.

That is a nice feature.
It would be nice to get the estimates before saving the gcode. This would allow testing different infill settings before saving the file.
Any idea if Prusa Control will get updated with the the new Slic3r? The last release is really old and it uses 1.37.?? with horrible print time estimates.

I am printing a gcode from Slic3r from the SD card, and it always takes 20-30% longer than estimated. Not in stealth mode afaik (how do I know?) MK3 using 0.2 fast mode. Any material.
EDIT: Confirmed not in stealth mode. Problem seems worse when there's lots of support. (e.g. an estimated 10 hour print took 15 hours last night)
