PA12 CF Nylon Nozzle Clogs
Hey Team!
Learn so much everyday 3d printing. Today I learned that the filament i'm using (Polymaker PA12 CF) clogs my nozzle. I know this because when I switched it the prints were good again. I did try to use that tool my Prusa came with to unclog it but was unsuccessful. The problem is I only got about 12 hours out of the nozzle and they cost a lot! Wondering if there were any pro tricks to get my nozzle working again? Thanks!
Are you printing CF with a standard brass nozzle? I'm surprised it lasted so long.
With plain filaments the standard nozzle is good for 9 - 12 months but all abrasive filaments require toughened nozzles - hardened steel, ceramic or even ruby.

Sorry forgot to clarify that. Using ED3 hardened steel.

Is clogging a symptom of wearing out a nozzle? Maybe I got knock offs?
Is clogging a symptom of wearing out a nozzle?
With inclusions it's often a symptom of a too narrow nozzle - what diameter does the filament manufacturer suggest?
Eg, almost all woodfill filaments suggest a min of 0.6mm. CF differs by manufacturer.

It's Polymaker PA12-CF. They Don't seem to recommend a specific nozzle size but it makes sense with the carbon particles to use a bigger size. However the original question remains. Is there a way to unclog it? I don't mind doing that every 12 hours of printing.
You should be able to burn it out but you might have to retemper the nozzle afterwards.

Hold the nozzle over a heatgun to warm it up and see if you can use the fine needle to push the filament out.
