Over and over again: "Some problem encountered Z leveling enforced"

MK3s has latest firmware(3.9.0-3421).  As shown in this video,

The MK3s will not get past bed leveling when starting a print.  It gets to the back left corner, then goes through "Some problem encountered - Z leveling enforced."  Once the hot end goes up and down the z axis, bed leveling restarts then repeats "Some problem encountered - Z leveling enforced."

I am seeking advice/guidance on how to fix this.  Thank you.

Best Answer by bobstro:

Make sure underside of removable bed and heater bed are clear of debris. Remove anything dangling from the nozzle. If those fail, move printer to a hard flat surface (floor) and see if it works.

@bobstro

Thank you.  There must have been debris.  After cleaning, the printer is working.  I truly appreciate your advice/response.

This is still helpful in 2022.

My nozzle was dirty but I didn't expect it to be the cause, first time having this problem. I always clean it before the print but idk, problem solved after nozzle cleaned.

  • Having this same issue…again. It started with the firmware upgrade back in early March so i reverted to the firmware it came with and the issue went away.
    a few days ago it came back again.  Occurs at location 9 every time.  I replaced the prox sensor, no change, I moved the location, no change. I updated to the latest firmware, no change. I removed the feet and set it on a perfectly flat surface, no change. I cleaned both sides of the print plate to ensure there was no material or debris, no change. I cleaned the nozzle, no change.

Does anyone have a real answer for these issues?

Changed nozzle to verify it wasn’t part of the issue.  No change.  Adjusted the bed leveling to 7x7, still faulting on the very last measurement.  Prox sensor flashes on and off for every point except the last point.  Manually moved the prox to the location of the last point and adjusted the z axis up and down to verify the prox is reading at that position and it did.

Feels like a software issue at this point.

Thankyou! I was going insane then looked under the spring steel sheet, and lo and behold, a freaking tiny amount of stringy filament!
