Re: Drivers 2.1.7 with Slic3r PE 1.40.0

Hello edward,

Indeed, that is an aspect which I did not consider...

I saved a new profile anyway - having another one can be considered an annecessary nuissance.

What's left is the gyroid-infill for PrusaControl...
I did find the keyword "grid", which corresponds to what it does - but what's the correct naming for gyroid?
And does PrusaControl slice with Slicer or does it have a complete standalone slicer that doesn't feature gyroid yet?

PrusaControl slices with a bundled Slic3r, so the gyroid infill will not work straight away, you would have to replace the Slic3r bundled with PrusaControl with 1.40.0. It is certainly doable though.

So has anyone gotten this upgrade to work on Win10 without jumping through hoops? Hesitant to try to install it...

Re: Drivers 2.1.7 with Slic3r PE 1.40.0

A couple of updates ago I had a problem getting things to work, I had a 7 year old laptop with all the bells and whistles, I have a son who is an IT person, had him give me a hand he told me that the Graphics Card I had would not work with Slic3r needed an updated Graphics Card. I bought a new Laptop never had a problem since.

Re: Drivers 2.1.7 with Slic3r PE 1.40.0

Hi Vojtech, deleted the data paths from "C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Slic3rPE" or "C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Application Data\Slic3rPE"

I had two one ending in Slic3r and one ending Slic3r PE both had different data in them so i guess that was the problem.

Both shortcuts now work, I may rip everything out and start with a clean install see how that works.

I did notice that in the new firmware updater that there is only a com1 where as mine is on com3

Re: Drivers 2.1.7 with Slic3r PE 1.40.0

Has anyone had any issues with prints where the walls are thin? My prints seem super brittle now. The walls look and feel more like the supports than prints now. Thanks for any help.

Re: Drivers 2.1.7 with Slic3r PE 1.40.0

Has anyone had issues with the infill settings?

I sliced a simple model and when printing the infill the head rattles as it crosses the previous infill layer in the opposite direction as it is at the same Z height. The only way I could stop it was to re-slice and set the infill to "Rectilinear" as the default is set to "Grid".

Was the default set to "Grid" on the previous version as I didn't have this issue before upgrading to 1.40.0.

It seams odd that you would want to cross over the previous layer at the same height as the current one as in the "Grid" setting.

Would you please enter an issue into our issue tracker, including your STL, exported config file and possibly your G-code?

Thanks.

Hi bubnikv, I can't do that as I have over written all of the files with the fixed ones

I have the same issue reported it yesterday. It cause a layer shift in my 24hr print. I will try to re-slice and use rectilinear

If you believe there is a bug in Slic3r, please fill an issue with as much data as possible, so we can reproduce it.

Re: Drivers 2.1.7 with Slic3r PE 1.40.0

...getting back at the topic of write-protection of system-profiles...

If you could at least then supply the figures for density and price for the prusa-filaments?
I am printing some stuff from time to time where I need to have a price up-front and having to save another filament just because I can't supply those two figures seems to get a bit ridiculous, isn't it...? Might as well disable that function within slicer then...
Or if there was a way to edit the source-file? So at least experienced users can fill those figures?

Cheerio!

Re: Drivers 2.1.7 with Slic3r PE 1.40.0

Something I would like to see in the newer versions of Slic3r PE is for it to give the print time estimate BEFORE I export the GCODE. When you export GCODE, you get a full preview, very similar to Simplify3D, which I like, but I would prefer to not have to save every time to get that interface, which should appear when you click "slice now" honestly.
Don't see that as something too big but definitely an improvement in my opinion.
