Nozzle not heating up

Hi!

So, I was changing the nozzle on my MK3S as I've done tons of times, but accidentally touched a wire (I'm assuming) with my pliers. There was a spark, and now my nozzle won't properly heat. (Preheat Error).  I checked the fuses and they seem to be intact.  So now what should I do or what part should I order?

Did I mess up the thermistor wires, or the other wires going into(?) the heater blocker, that are covered in a red sleeve?  Please help.  I tried emailing Prusa support, but no response. Thanks!

RE: Nozzle not heating up

Contact support via online chat when logged into the e-store. I'm thinking the thermistor, but it could be either. I'd recommend keeping a spare of each on hand for this exact reason.

Also... unless you've been fastidious with keeping your nozzle and heater block clean, replacing either the thermistor or heater cartridge may be difficult if they're really gunked up. I had to replace my heatbreak, heat block, heater cartridge and thermistor recently. If you end up doing that, it's a good opportunity to upgrade the heatbreak and apply thermal paste to reduce possible temperature issues.

I got the same error after cleaning the nozzle with a brass  brush. Changing the thermistor solved the problem. By this opportunity i also changed the heater block, heater cartridge and nozzle.

FYI - After experiencing the spark but without the dead components, I have started using cardboard strips to clean the nozzle and hotend. I get a bit more control, and a side-to-side "toothbrush" action gets bits off that were difficult with the brush. The cardboard is also easier on nozzle and heater block non-stick coatings. A wooden toothpick is useful for cleaning up around delicate parts.
