nozzle head clogged when printing overhangs with stiffer pla

Hi

My Prusa I3 mk3 is now printing nearly 24/7 since about a year more or less flawless but in recent times it suffers nozzle clogging with stiffer pla sorts like BQ filament or glow in the dark pla. The clogging problems start when the printer gets slower to print overhangs and the possibility of clogging gets more likely with every pass.

Could it be my nozzle is getting too old and needs a replacement ?

I already checked everything else like cleaning extruder and servicing the Bonttech gears and all the other clogging tips I could find on the support page.

Cheers
Rubi

Glow in the dark has solids that are very very hard; harder than most steel. And the only glow I've used: Prusa branded, plugged my 0.4 mm nozzle solid after about 300 grams. It also destroyed my Nickel-Plated copper nozzle, lol. The funny part is it doesn't glow in the dark very well, either. Looks great under UV, but that's about it.

I won't use glow any more - I learned my lesson. Maybe with a 0.6mm hardened nozzle.

Thank God I could solve this. The problem cost me approx 100h of printing time and about 1kg of Pla went down the drain. 6 weeks ago I adjusted my retract settings to stop Petg from oozing and stringing. Unfortunately I obviously went way above the top.
Interestingly softer Pla sorts like Hobbyking Pla did not show any problems. The old Prusa black started to missbehave slightly BQ filament (I still have leftovers from my Witbox time) did not like it at all and glow in the dark was a nightmare.

The following threads were a big help:

Sorry for the new thread I should have investigated the problem way more thoroughly before posting.

Cheers
