Nozzle dragging on the printed parts.

Hi,  i have a small problem with my printer. It started 2 firmware updates ago. When i print large parts i hear the nozzle dragging on the printed parts, but only when printing the infill. The nozzle touch the infill where the lines cross. I havent changed anything on my printer, only the firmware. Before going to change some  settings in prusaslicer i thought i should ask here first if others had this problem and how they fix it

Thank You.

Is it really a problem?  Are your prints failing?  Are the surfaces showing unpleasant artifacts?

Cheers

RE: Nozzle dragging on the printed parts.

What kind of infill are you using? For example, the Grid infill that Prusa for reasons unknown uses as default has crossing lines within a layer, which can lead to pile-ups at the intersections. Switch to a non-crossing infill such as gyroid or adaptive cubic. Also check out these knowledgebase articles:

Great discussion of strengths and weaknesses of each infill type and impact of infill vs perimeters.

I found gyroid and adaptive cubic to be the best all-around infills.

RE: Nozzle dragging on the printed parts.

@Bob It is not really a problem, my prints are great but when the printer do the infill, the tip of the nozzle drag too much were the lines of the infill cross and is making noise. If i print a large piece when it gets to the infill part my printer gets too noisy and i can see a small dent were the lines cross after the nozzle passes. I didnt had this problems before updateing my printer. I use the same settings since i bought the printer and i never changed the printing speed not form the apps and not from the knob, but now i have to lower the speed of the printing from the knob when it gets to the infill part to lower the noise and vibrations but the printing time gets bigger.

@fuchsr I always use the default grid infill, but even if i change the infill type, i still have that problem with the grid infill.

RE: Nozzle dragging on the printed parts.

To me a simple choice is choose gyroid infill, there is no crossover.
