Not slicing boat hull correctly

I have purchased the C. U. wave Cruiser from 3DabPrintPlanes.   I have the STL files.  The boat hull pieces are mostly inside and outside skin with some filler and alignment pin holes in-between .  However I cannot get PrusaSlicer 2.0 to slice the internal features.  I have included a couple of files to show what I mean.

Sliced without internal structure

STL file with internal structure

I am printing with 2 perimeters, no top or bottom layers and 0% infill.

Any suggestions on how to get the internal structure to print.

It is likely the interior wall thicknesses are below 0.4 mm and Plicer removes the detail.  Try enabling Detect Thin Walls.  If that doesn't work, there's another approach that might help, but has side effects that might affect the model.

Thanks for the suggestion, I already tried it but no luck.  What is your other suggestion.

A couple, actually.  But thin walls is the best solution to what the issue looks like.

If you can post a ZIP of one of the STL files - I can take a closer look.

1) You can use XY compensation to increase wall thicknesses everywhere.

2) How many shells is Plicer reporting?  More than one may indicate a boundary issue within the part.

3) Are the features showing in the Plater Preview?

You have another problem, too: Top shell thickness isn't being managed: those strands are probably supposed to be a surface ...

I can force a surface over the strands no problem.  All of the features are showing us in model preview.  I turn on thin walls but it does not help.  Not sure what you mean by shells.  I cannot share the STL as it is a purchased model.  One thing I just noticed is that the internal structure is not connected to the inside and outside walls.

I will report to the owner of the files.

Well - sharing that single hull section stl is not going to allow anyone to build a boat ... lol.  But I understand. And yes, by all means, have the person who sold you the plans help you print it correctly.  They should be giving you all sorts of build detail.  Minimum bottom layers, top layers, infill, etc. Where to allow bridging, or support, and even infill angles for proper component strength.

As for internal feature not connected ... that's a pretty common issue with some cad tools. And it causes extraneous shells that slicers can deal with.  The terms SHELL and MANIFOLD are crucial to understand for FDM printing.

It took me a while to get with the term shell and I know what manifold means.  But thanks for your help.

RE: Not slicing boat hull correctly

I've eventually boiled it down to these ultra simplistic and inadequate descriptions:

Multiple Shells - is essentially a box within a box.  A slicer can't know which surface is external.  Is it a filled internal box inside a hollow box?  Is is a single cube that has a cube hollow?  And it gets more complex as shells interconnect.

Manifold - is simply whether the part shell surfaces will leak if filled with water.

Manifold is a little more complicated than that.

But thanks
