No printing after fail

Prusament PETG
Big print failed overnight, woke up to lots of hardened goo on the hotend, plate, etc.
Screen showed Err: Extruder Fan
Reset the printer, preheated, started another print. I hear the characteristic stepper pop.
Stop the print, unload filament without issue. No stuck or residual filament. Filament reloads fine and extrudes normally for loading. Able to extrude filament with Settings Menu-->move axis-->extruder.
Self check runs without issue.
Will not print gcode or first layer calibration.
Is is possible the stepper motor burned up during the failed print?
