No print restart after power out

Hi

After updating to the latest official firmware, my printer does not restart after power out.

I assume this is related to the preheat error I had where it stopped printing at the beginning of layer two, when the fan started at full speed.
I could fix this error by running pid and temp calibration, after that the preheat error was thankfully gone.

Problem description:
When I turn of the printer and restart it heatsw up, positions itself but then the fan starts, the temp drops noticable and it takes a wghile until end temp is reached but the printer refuses to start printing, altough the bed and nozzle temp are reached.

Please advice.

Cheers
Michael

are you using the power switch to turn off the printer? Rumor has it that doesn't actually trip the power panic sensing reliably; you'd need to actually pull the plug from the wall or something.

Hi

Thank you ! , I just used the switch, will try that today.

Sometimes my octoprint disconnects and if I want to supervise the print cutting power would be an option.
It is not optimal tough because I lose remote controll functionality but at least I would have a video feed.

The power panic is a great idea, but there are things that will make it not work right. Many related to the filament sensor issues (Mk3 style). I would not depend on it for normal workflow. PAUSE is a better way to manage flow.
