Newbie: Design software, which?
I just got my MK3 and looking at what software to design my own stuff.
What would be better to learn and use, Tinkercad or Fusion360, or is there some other software that is better?
Thanks in Advanced!
Re: Newbie: Design software, which?
give them both a try, see which you get on with, best!
it's your user experience that matters... not the product capability!

If you are new to 3D design and build TinkerCad is the way to go before you buy something like Fusion. If you are running Windows 10 you have a very simple and basic Paint 3D and 3D Builder. 3D Builder works well.
I am teaching my husband 3D. The biggest thing I stress is learn how to move around your object in the 3D space.
Should you fall deep into 3D and you will grad Draftsight to quickly layout your 2D pattern. Next you will want FreeCad load your 2D and extrude your parts or you can build directly in FreeCad. Work like Soildworks in PartDesign. FreeCad is good and only going to get better as it is young.
If you are a coder you may like OpenSCAD. I am learning some of this now.
The pay stuff is pricey and they want annual money.
I got bit with the 3D in the Beta days of SecondLife. Then I learned Blender. Next came AutoCAD MEP and Inventor. Now SoildWorks, Freecad,

I'm using Fusion360 and it's amazing what you can do there for free. There are also a lot of tutorials which you need to watch to make your brain think how it should be used. It applies usually to any 3D CAD software.

Re: Newbie: Design software, which?
As a newbie I found Tinkercad the easiest to get started with. If we drag the ruler tool onto our workplane then we get xyz measurements for our objects (I had missed this tool at first myself). It is worth looking through the pre-made objects Tinkercad to see the things that we can use for our designs.
I found the Fusion 360 learning curve too steep for my initial enthusiasim to get designing: but I am working my way through the tutorials. I'm now designing simple objects in Fusion 360. We can design simple objects in Fusion 360 and import them into Tinkercad for adding to a project if we wish.
In time I expect to spend more time in Fusion 360 and less in Tinkercad but to get started I think that Tinkercad is a great tool.
Cheers
