New Buddy, Calibration stopped. Won't search for points

i3Mk3s+

I replaced the buddy board. When XYZ calibration, it comes down from the top and stops and doesn't do the search for the calibration points When I do an auto-home, It does hit the stops on auto-home, and the pinda does stop over the front left point.   I triple checked the height of the pinda (shouldn't have changed) with the zip-tie. I measured the zip-tie to verify 1mm.   Flexible bed is off.

It comes down from the top after calibrating Z, then throws the error "Calibration Failed.  Check the axes and run again".   How/why do I check the axes? What am I looking to correct?

How do I proceed?

Yes, I saw that earlier.    This printer has been working fine for years, so no changes were made to the trap nuts, etc.   I started the xyz calibration from the top most point and from the autohome position.  Neither made any difference.

I changed the buddy board because I couldn't clear a mintemp error after a blob.   New heater, new thermistor, pinda adjusted.  No joy

I think I fixed it.   When I remounted the hotend, it was too low.  Wasn't seated in the plastic housing high enough.    Now it's going through searching for points.

Thank you.
