my pull request: https://github.com/prusa3d/Slic3r/pull/821

if you want to test it, you can use my fork: https://github.com/supermerill/Slic3r/releases
https://github.com/supermerill/Slic3r/wiki/ironing

Don't forget to report back. It's useful to see if it's worth merging into the main slic3rPE branch.

Re: Neosanding / ironing in Slic3r PE ?

Something I do in Slic3r is to just set the Print Settings -> Advanced -> top solid infill width to 75% of my nozzle width (0.6mm nozzle = 0.45mm width) and up the top solid infill speed to 120% to compensate for the extra print time. Comes out much smoother and nicer looking and doesn't require and additional code. Make sure you're using real E3D nozzles (or at least one that gets the dimensions correct) because knockoffs don't have as much flat around the nozzle orifice to properly "iron" the extrusion.
