My printer will not print after recalibration.

Hello, I'm the happy owner (not so happy atm) of a Prusa i3 MK3S, wich was purchased new. It has now a total print time of 74days and 18km of extrusion. Everything was going good as usual, but i was trying to achieve maximum precision for an engraved text on first layers, so i decided to change my  original 0,4mm nozzle today, replaced with a brand new brozzle 0,4mm.

Everything was still working great at that point, and i printed about 5 bench for my engraving.

Then i decided maybe it was time to check the Belts, and overall calibration of the printer, so I get the belt to be in both in the 255/265 range, and I redo a full calibration of the printer : so far so good.

Except that i've been struggling for 5 hours, impossible to print, the PLA sticks to the hotend, nothing sticks to the bed.

I've cleaned the bed countless times, i've changed the nozzle to the original (even thought before calibration I did about 6 hours of perfect printing with the new nozzle), I've run countless first layer adjusting, tested all settings possible, even printing base model, changed prusament, I really tried for about 5 hours to get a basic print.

Has this happened to anyone before ? I'm reallly losing my mind over this issue...

Here is the part printed before calibration/belt tensionning , with the new nozzle (so i don't think it's the problem) :

I take it you have redone your live z after doing the calibration ?  As that wipes out your previous setting.

Hello, thank you for answering, I did redo the Z adjustement, but now in my multiple tries i've done the whole range of spacing between the nozzle and the bed, from "way too close" to "so far it doesn't even stick".

So I just did a "self test", all axis, hotend and bed are "OK".

These are the infos in "support" section of the printer :

Y distance from min :

left 9,49mm

right 9,51mm

measured skew 0,09

slight skew 0,12

severe skew 0,25

belt status x 265 y 268

I tried to do a super clean of the bed, did a "Z adjustement" test print, all good.

then impossible to do a print, it's just a mess of plastic. It has never done that to me, in 74 days of printing i never had a clog or a mess like that.

I almost feel like it's a temperature problem, like the nozzle isn't hot enough and the PLA sticks to it ?

And the worst part is that it was running perfect, hardware was fine and printing good, i just did a recalibration to try to get more precision, set it ut perfectly, and now it just simply won't work anymore.

RE: My printer will not print after recalibration.

If I get that right, your printer worked fine and after some maintenance and recalibration you now have an adhesion problem.

If that's so, why should temperature (something you did not change) now be causing problems? That does not make sense to me...

Could you post a picture of the build in first layer calibration square still on the bed?

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!
