Motor skipping back and forward

Hi,

i have a problem directly after the assembly. I ran the Wizzard and while checking the x-axis the motor jumps back and forward. Wizzard gave me the order Check axis length.
Pully is aligned, idler runs free the whole x-Axis is easy moving.
so i tried to move the x-axis with the manual controls but same here. quick jumping back an forward without moving the x-Axis more than half a millimeter with each jump.

i disasembled the motor so it can run free but same problem with free Motor.
i changed the Connecter on the einsyboard with the y axis ( just for control not for wizard) and now it works. but the y-motor on the x-connector has the same problem.

has anyone an idea what the problem is?

Re: Motor skipping back and forward

swap the X and Y motor connectors and see if the problem moves, stays or dissapears....

if the X motor fails on the Y driver connection, the problem is with the X Motor. possibly broken wire, or poor connection.
If the problem now affects the Y motor and the X motor runs OK, then it could be a fault with the X motor driver on the Einsy. or maybe a bad soldered joint.

If the problem disappears, then it may have been a poorly seated connector or high resistance connection

regards Joan

I think I'm having the same issue.  How did they determine that it was a missing thermister?

Suggest you contact support.   But swapping cables as Joan suggested would be a first test. Easy and quick to do.

RE: Motor skipping back and forward

I've been in contact with support.  I was so desperate to get my printer working that I've been live chatting and hitting up the forums at the same time.

Looks like they are going to send me a new Rambo board.  The tech thinks it's the y-motor controller and I agree.
