More powerful extruder fan
I'm switching to a 1.3W extruder fan from the 0.25W stock one on my MK3. Will the control board handle this extra power drain on the fan pins or do I need extra hardware involving a transistor for this? Is there any risk for the control board to get damaged?
Re: More powerful extruder fan
I seriously doubt the stock fan is only 0.25 watts. Where did you get this info?

Fan specs page https://noctua.at/en/products/fan/nf-a4x10-5v/specification .
Re: More powerful extruder fan
So I had to remove my own fan to verify the wattage. Yes indeed, it is 0.25w. An amazingly efficient fan, and the power explains why it is so quiet.
There's nothing special about the fan driver that would limit current to 0.05A ... you should be safe up to 0.50A without any worries.

... I believe this is (or is similar to) the current device being used ...
