MMU2 and 0.05mm prints

We received our MMU2 for our MK3 a couple of weeks ago and are having a lot of fun with the new possibilities of a multi-material printer. All of the calibration is done and printing is working pretty well.

We noticed that the Slic3r PE v1.41.2 profile configuration bundle doesn't have a 0.05mm preset included for the MMU2. The preset is there for the MK3 (Printer = Original Prusa i3 MK3) and for the MMU2 single mode (Printer = Original Prusa i3 MK3 MMU2 Single), but not for the MMU2 configuration (Printer = Original Prusa i3 MK3 MMU2).

This appears to be a conscious decision.

Is this because there is some inherent problem printing at 50 microns with the MMU2, or because there are issues with a wipe tower when changing filaments so frequently, or someone hasn't gotten around to making the configuration yet, or perhaps something else?

Any insights?

I believe you are correct in this assumption. The tower at .05mm would need to have an enormous footprint to purge the same amount of filament as one at .20mm.

While true, you can always make the entire back half of the bed the wipe tower if needed. Just rotate the part (since it seems to just stretch the tower along the Y axis) and you have a lot of room to work with. Of course, you also need to have a pretty small part if you've taken half of your bed just for the tower.
