Mk3S+in a cool room getting MINTEMP errors after firmware update
I recently updated the firmware for the first time in nearly a year and now I'm getting repeated MINTEMP errors when it's sitting idle. It's in an unheated basement where the temperature is about 10-14C this time of year.
As I understand, this is around the temperature where it can look like the thermistor is faulty and the new firmware revamped the "thermal model", so it's probably a combination of the cool room temperature and the new firmware that's conspiring to give me constant MINTEMP errors.I would rarely get MINTEMP errors with the old firmware, but that only happened upon starting a print, and it was easily worked around by preheating the nozzle to 25C before starting a print. But now it happens at idle. Not printing anything. And it makes a loud constant beeping noise. I had to shut it off completely.I reran the thermal calibration but that didn't fix it.
Given that heating the basement or finding a new home for the printer isn't feasible, what can I do? What should I do?
Seems like my only option is to go back to an old firmware before the "thermal model" was reworked?

I have had this same problem for years. Will have it again in a month or two. Do you have a hot air gun or hair dryer. If so just hit the bed with a little heat. If not hit reset and when the printer comes back up hit preheat. Or you can just put your hand on the heat bed for a minuet or two until the error goes away. It is what it is, don't worry about it.

No. It doesn't go away. It begins beeping loudly when it cools down again.

You could put it in a heated enclosure.

Ok, but I'm not going to do that when it was working well before without a heated enclosure. IMO that's not a reasonable solution. It's already in an enclosure.

I've also had the same problem for ages, but the long, loud beep was a more recent development. One that was not appreciated in the slightest.
I suspect there are other complaints, but the best place to bring this up is by posting your issue on their Github issue tracking list: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues.
