MK3s+ vs MK3s Hotend PTFE Liner

Hi there,

I have a MK3S+ printer and I want to replace the hotend. However for some time the hotend replacement was not available in the Prusa Shop. Therefor I ordered this V6 Prusa directly from E3D.

I understand that it is designed for the MK3S and not for the MK3s+ variant. However as far as I understand the only difference is the length of the PTFE liner. I have some PTFE liner for the MK3S+.

I think I can just swap the PTFE liner that was shipped in the new E3D hotend with the MK3S+ PTFE  I have. However now I feel unsafe if that will work.

I'd  like to understand why the MK3S+ has a shorter PTFE liner even though the rest of hotend is the same.

Can someone confirm, that the PTFE liner is the only part of the hotend that has changed from MK3S to MK3S+?
Is it safe to swap the PTFE liner from the MK3S to the MK3s+ length (about 2 mm shorter than).

I'd like to know what you are thinking.

Cheers, Bernd

The difference is due to the extruder parts, which are slightly different between the Mk3S and the S+. So if you have an Mk3S+, either reuse your current PTFE or trim the one from the new hotend to size.

Oh thank you very much. I'll give that a try.
