Mk3S update Y-belt-holder Y-belt-tensioner
Hello
I have print the 2 parts for the Y belt (tensioner and holder.
The revision number on it is R4
The belt surface, the one i should insert the belt, have no seration.
Bolt side of the belt grouve is smooth.
Is this normal?

Are these the parts you printed?
If so, the answer is YES the parts are smooth on the inside, Prusa have changed the set up, and now use the teeth on the belt to lock into teeth further along the belt, after wrapping around a screw
I hope these pictures help you understand the way these are intended to grip the belt.

I did not look at the manual taking for granted that the installation was similar.
I found this upgrade to be important. i had a lot of problem adjusting the y belt tension. i had to loosen the y belt idler, but it became wobbly. or too tight and the belt is noisy.

Can you point me to the Prusa site with the updated dwgs? I need to change out my mk3 Y belt holder for something adjustable.

You have to use the mk3s full installation manual and part stl to find what you need. Im disapointe that this modification is not part of the mk3 to mk3s upgrade files and manual.

Unfortunately, I have the original MK3 with add on S upgrade, so I don’t know where to get the part file.

The prusa Web site is very well made, it's simple an well organize.
Maybe you did not look hard enough.

This is why i first post this.
The Y-belt instruction and parts are only available in the complete full system manual and stl files. not available anywhere else.
I bought both the MK3S parts and the kit and none of the include the Y-belt update. (i have 2 printer at work)
strangely enough the advertise the MK3S Y-belt as a improvement over the MK3

I would like to know if I can upgrade my MK3 with the old y-belt holder to the new MK3S y-belt holder & tensioner, just by printing the parts, or do I need a new y-belt and maybe some other parts.

Hello,
yes, you don't need a new y-belt. you will need a few screws, the belts installation is different. check carefully the instruction.
