Sure, I didn’t expect the glue to hold permanently. Prusa support suggested to use superglue to print new parts with in the interim.

They told me not to worry about this and just print normally....

Prusa support sent me plastic parts... so that I can tear my extruder down, install the R4 parts....
And THEN print the R5 parts, then tear the extruder down, and install the R5 parts...

To see if it's the parts or the PINDA changing its Z height... lol....

So they’re basically experimenting with their own users... that’s cost efficient I gotta give kudos to them tbh

They just told me to glue it and print my own replacement but I then ordered one, along with something else I had wanted in case I couldn’t get it to work.

Don't rebel, or call them on it. They'll call you "ridiculous, having too high expectations," or even better... "a difficult customer" on work order sheets when they take your printer for repair for a month. 😉 haha... I've had less trouble out of crappy Chinese clones.

May be a good idea to have things printed in a more robust engineering material by a third party since they're bent on keeping the same not-so-resistive-to-heat general design... That'll solve it. That's what I'm about to order... since they won't stand behind their product.

This calls for a story, if you don’t want to go off topic please PM me what happened!

I will sometime later this evening. Got a surgery I'm about to go thru 🙂
I half don't even believe my own story after all of these shenanigans. lol! Yep, that bad in my view....

RE: MK3S part melted

It’s a lot to go through just to replace one part, more so to do it twice as I would rather use a better part so the same issue isn’t as likely to happen again. I’ve had and used my printer for about four months and this is just the latest issue I’ve had with it. Up until the break, which happened nearly a month ago, I had always printed with pla at lower temperatures. Only once did I try abs and have only heated the hotend higher on a few occasions for brief times to remove clogs. So the part was either defective to begin with or isn’t designed properly for repeated temperature changes over time. There isn’t much plastic to hold the pinda probe in place so the part either needs to be reinforced or made of a more heat resistant material.

Yeah if I wanted a PLA only printer, I'd not buy a $1000 printer and add a $300 MMU to it. I'd have got a $200 printer from China. lol

Please don't get him going here too (though he is clearly starting on his own). If you want to see the story go check the "I challenge Prusa" thread in the General section of the MMU2 forum.

My summary: He has some legitimate issues and complaints about how those issues have been handled, but he has gone off the deep end over some unrealistic expectations and attacks anyone (wait for his response to this 🙄) that offers advice that doesn't fit with his view of how things should be.

Please review the mentioned thread and come to your own conclusions though.

I have said nothing here to warrant such disrespect from you. The gentleman and I are going to discuss it on private message. If you have a problem with that, tough. The other thread degenerated thanks to an individual who followed me from a place where I blocked him.

Let’s not go off topic here and focus on the main issue of melting parts 🙂

Thank you. Sent you my email address. Thinking about having some testing with SLA printed parts...

RE: MK3S part melted

The part on the left is the one I recently received from Prusa. It is marked “C2”. The one on the right is the one I printed. It’s the one I printed from the file available on their website. Both appear to be the same design, but is there any known difference?
