MK3S Not Turning On

I posted this on Reddit, but I'll post it here in hopes of getting a clearer answer:

So I’ve had an MK3S for a while now, but I don’t use it much. Maybe a total of 100 hours printed or so. I just finished a 15hr print the other day, and I let it rest for about 45 min while I was looking for something else to print. Then I setup a 2.5 hr print, and walked away. When I came back an hour later to check on it, the printer was completely off.

I checked my circuit breaker, I checked the switch, I checked the power cable. It all looked okay. The next day I looked at the fuses on the board, but they are all okay. Then after searching the Wiki, I realized the PSU has a fuse too. I pulled it out, and it was blown. So I ordered some new ones (I got the correct ones for the silver PSU) and I put in a new one today, but it still won’t turn on. I never smelled anything burning and the board doesn’t look burnt.

Can anyone point me in the direction of what I can do to troubleshoot?

Thanks

Since I posted that, I've changed the PSU fuse with a few different fuses, but nothing worked. I swapped the power cord, but again, nothing... not even a flicker of light on the LCD.

So I went back to the KB, specifically this page:

https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/printer-does-not-turn-on-or-keeps-turning-off_2102

And at the bottom it says:

The PSU has a small green LED which is on if it is active. The silver PSU has this located inside its case, seen through the metal cover, in the bottom-left.

So I went back and plugged it in, and turned it on, and there is NO green LED that turns on. So is it safe to say that the power supply is gone? Can I replace it with the black one or does it have to be another silver?

Also, I can't believe that with all the good reviews about these Prusa printers, my power supply would go out with only 100hrs of printing or so... uggh... so frustrating.

Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

RE: MK3S Not Turning On

When my PSU went, it just went, no smoke, no burning smell, nothing. I did the same as you checked all fuses plugs and switches then ordered a new power supply, after installing the new power supply I open up the old one and found a blown capacitor mystery solved, even though I ordered a new prusa power supply at that time, it was taking to long for it to get here, so I jumped on amazon and ordered a (Mean Well NES-350-24 24V 350 Watt UL Switching Power Supply 120 Volt) it has a switch on it for 230V also. I had it delivered, installed and working in two days. and still have the one I ordered from prusa in the box for next time. That was 2 yrs ago power supplies are cheap, the Mean Well at the time of writing this is $43.28

Do your research, don't just take my word for it, Good luck
