MK3S + MMU2S, PINDA seems to stop working after warming up > 35C, starts again once cool.
Model: i3 Mk3S MMU2S
Expected behavior: PINDA sensor reads normally, even after several prints.
Observed behavior: PINDA sensor always reports status of 1 at around 35C (even at the top of the Z axis with no metal in front of it), seems to recover after dropping below 30ish C.
Steps to reproduce:
- Print a Z-calibration print twice.
- Observe failure on second print.
- Observe PINDA reading 1 even at the top of the Z axis and with no metal
- Cool sensor (active or passive, fast or slow)
- Observe PINDA reading 0
- Observe PINDA triggering to 1 in presence of metal
I've already checked all cables, wiggling them pretty aggressively seems to have no impact when the sensors is functioning normally. I flashed to the latest firmware (3.7.2) before I started printing, and even tried going to to 3.7.1, but no change.
I looked at the code on GitHub briefly and it looks like there's a function to adjust the readings of the PINDA based on temperature. Is there a way to recalibrate the PINDA sensor? Is this simply a broken sensor? Has anyone else seen this behavior?

I didn't notice before, but there's a temperature calibration as well. I attempted this just now, and it failed on the first item.

The temp cals have no effect on whether or not the sensor trips. All they do is adjust after a trip is detected.
PINDA should trip anywhere within the operational range, one COTS part has these specs:
Operating Temperature -25 to 70°C (-13 to 158°F)
