MK3s+ fan shroud construction question

Since I started to use an enclosure I changed 4 fan shrouds. They all melts even if printed with ASA.

I decided to use SLA to reprint this part from heat resistant resin. When analysing the current shroud I found that it consist from 2  parts printed in place. Small moving wall with V shaped dent and the shroud itself.

Am i right to suggest that it was made to separate 2 parts from the heat to prevent melting? Im planning to use resing that withstand 300c and want to join this moving wall with the body of the shroud. Is it ok to do? This small part is very brittle when moved independently and I broken 4 when I tried to remove support

I know it'sfor the Mi3S, but I believe you may be able to use it on the mk3S+

At least I see that someone decided not to mess with separate parts. 10x.

Hi Tilbert,
the Printable part is intended for FDM Printing
in the image below, the orange part is supposed to be a break away support

when you try to Resin print these parts, there will be a tiny gap between the support and the shroud.

you would probably be better to remove the support section, and use supports in prusa slicer for the resin printer.

Fan shrouds hardly melt any more, if you use a sock on the heater block (it prevents radiation from the heater block to the fan shroud )

I would suggest to print the Fan shroud in Polyamid-CF which can be printed on MK3S with a hardened nozzle and has heat resistance of 160-170 °C (ASA has approx. 93 °C)

Hi Tilbert,

Try the project file below, it may work for you.

I don't have access to your high temperature resin profile, so you may need to update the resin type,

Wait what? Are you serious?? I just checked 4 of your stock mk3s+ prusas that we still not rebuild to be more heat resistant with stock parts and the fan shroud has this part! Oh my..

As an experiment i'm testing new rig where all parts are made from ASA, except fan shroud and the part that holds it - it was printed from heat resistant resin (up 300c).  So far so good, moreover, the bed leveling stopped to shift over the time...
