MK3S fan duct melting
I see someone already posted about their PINDA melting after upgrading. Mine seems to be more with the fan duct than the PINDA enclosure.
I'm getting black dripping down into prints and causing print failures. I just tried to send an email to Prusa using their contact form, but the Send button doesn't seem to work (tried in Safari and Chrome). Or, they now have 20 copies of my email.
This picture doesn't show it the best, but the plastic next to the aluminium fins is warped and soft to the touch. Will try to add better pictures later, doing a test print right now.
Here you can see some of the black that has dripped down into this print. And that's after I broke the large chunks off.
Does Prusa have a solution for this?
Thanks.
RE: MK3S fan duct melting
There are numerous posts about this issue already on the forum, not just the PINDA mount but that entire area of the extruder. I believe Prusa has already modified the parts to try and fix the issue, not sure what the revision is though as I'm running a modded Mk3 (non S).
There's also several community modded extruder upgrades available that also fix this but they are also usually more extensive in the changes they have and not limited to changing just that area.
Of course whatever direction you choose will require new parts to be printed. Some have re-printed the new parts in PC for much much greater heat durability and if you are doing a lot of prints at hotter than PLA temps that's probably a smart move.

Thanks for the update.
98% of all my printing is in PLA. Although I do have some spare PETG left over from the upgrade, a start might be to just reprint the parts as it seemed to be a couple months before it started melting.
RE: MK3S fan duct melting
Be careful with enclosures also. If you use one, print with at least one door open.
