MK3s 3.13.2 - disatrous update

Hello,

I come from attempting to update my MK3S to the latest version of the firmware from 3.12.2 and WOW it was a true disaster.

I anticipate that i haven't touch the hardware, just the driver update.

From the first calibration after the succesful update I started having problems with Z axis. After the XYZ calibration when tried to move up the head, it stacked trambeling.

Then trying to continue with first layer calibration I had to set -1.4 which is quite big value compared to usual one and finally when trying to print I have distroyed my PEI plate cause the nozzle crashed violently over the bed (PINDA V2 light off since from 10 cm from he bed).

So to cut the story short the printer was simply gone. Got back to 3.12 vrersion and everything is back working as expected.

My point: not only i have to debug the prusa software and hardware, now I also have to loose money for seeing equipment distroyed.

Seriously guys!!!?? This story that in the world of 3D printing the user can be considered as a cavia HAVE TO FINISH!

Filippo

Ouch, that is painful.

I was searching about firmware updates since my printer is annoyingly telling it is outdated, but your post makes me wonder if I should touch something that is currently working properly...

Hello Joan,

edit the  prusa slicer, printer settings,  custom gcode, start gcode to bypass the firmware nag message

You mean comment or remove the M115 gcode line  "tell printer latest fw version" ?

I think I'll do that, instead of updating to a firmware that may crash the head on the plate.
