Mk3 Print Fan Error

Recently my prints have been stopping with a Print Fan Error, at first I thought it might be a bad connector or wire, however when I hit resume print the fan always starts right back up and the print continues. This has been happening multiple times per print and there seems to be no pattern to it stopping, sometimes it runs for 3 min, sometimes it goes over an hour before the error happens again. Any Thoughts?

Re: Mk3 Print Fan Error

I had a similar situation with my MK3 kit recently.

In order to troubleshoot, I disassembled the printer to the point of being able to remove the front print fan and applied a multi-meter to test for resistance.

The yellow signal wire showed infinite resistance indicating break between the endpoints.

I even went so far as to try to solder a new wire onto the contact point but eventually wound up ordering a replacement fan.

Upon reassembly, I was very careful not to over tighten any of the zip ties. I have printed successfully for more than a month since the replacement.
