Mesh Bed Reference

Greetings,

I am looking at the 7x7 output array reported by G81.

The values are all non-zero and have positive and negative values.

It would seems to me, from a mathematical view, that some point needs to be the reference and therefor 0 (zero)
and all other points relative to that.

For example point 1,1 is +0.635 so this is 0.635 higher than what?
point 7,7 is -0.48417 so this is 0.48417 lower than what?

If I take the average of the 49 points I get +0.07306 which leads me to believe that the points are not relative to the average.

If there is a paper that discusses this I would like to read it.

Any help in understanding what I am looking at will be appreciated.

Thank you,
Ron

Re: Mesh Bed Reference

I've wondered the same thing but since I don't have to write the code myself ; ) it has not been a priority to understand it.

If one looks through the code, it will be 100% clear but I don't care to spend time doing that. My guess is that some kind of regression math is being done and the data is shifted (offset) so they would work with all positive numbers. This is a completely wild and uneducated guess, though.
