Max Temp on Heat Bed Exceeded
At the beginning of a print, all temps within normal parameters.
Approximately 4 minutes into print the top row of the display goes blank.
Shortly after that an alarm is triggered with the error message "Max Temp Exceeded".
I can't find any articles addressing this issue.
Please help.
RE: Max Temp on Heat Bed Exceeded
Hi there -
My first thought is that the thermistor may be faulty. I’d start with checking if it’s is still working correctly. Or, if you have happen to have a spare, just change it and see if that solves the issue.
Can you share more details about the setup? Such as firmware version, printer type, material you’re printing with, print (temp) settings? Does the error happen always exactly at the same time with different prints? Or at the same stage, like at the end of the first layer? Does the printer work correctly when you reset it and start again before it goes wrong again? Any problems when you preheat the nozzle and the bed to normal printing temperature level (both separately and jointly).
Sorry, no answers yet, just more questions….
RE: Max Temp on Heat Bed Exceeded
I'm currently using a i3 MK3S, Firmware 3.10.1-4697, with prusament PETG. The print bed is relatively stable at 240°C meaning it only varies 1-2 degrees during the initial phase . While I haven't tried a different model, I have tried printing the same model with 3 different gcode files, I suspected a corrupted gcode file and created three different ones with different default settings. At approximately 24% into the print(photo 1), the top line of the display clears (photo 2), the printer job continues until 27% (photo 3) until I get the alarm (photo 4). This seems to be consistent each time it fails. If I do a reset immediately and start to reprint the same file everything works the same as the first print with the failure again at 24%.
Everything seems to work correctly for very short prints, I've done several first layer height adjustments successfully.

Talk to Prusa about this, your hot end information goes blank, I've never seen that before. There may be a fault with your MB or you may have found a firmware bug.
