Loud Y Axis
I just built and started printing with my MK3S a couple weeks ago and its been almost as noisy as my old Monoprice Maker Select V2 so far. Ive tightened the belts and checked their status in the support menu, and the results came back within normal range. I also checked for loose bolts, printing on a different surface, and cleaning the shafts. The X and Z axes are nearly silent as advertised but any time the Y axis moves it is loud enough through the walls in my apartment. My best guess is that the bearings are the culprit to the noise, but I'm not sure how to remedy the problem. Anybody else having similar issues or have any advice? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Grade 2 Grease. Should be applied when building to ensure it gets inside the bearings before they are placed on the rods.
Lithium or Synthetic is available at most parts store, even Walmart and HomeDepot. Or, to see if lubrication will help, place a drop of motor oil on the rods each side of and work the bearings back and forth to get oil past the grease seals.

Update: I tried packing the bearings with grease and while noise was reduced slightly, it was still somewhat noisy. I ended up swapping out all 10 bearings for the igus drylin ones, and after finding the proper tensioning in the screws on the extruder assembly, have had completely silent printing in stealth mode to the point where I walked by the printer and thought something was wrong because I could not hear anything. In the normal mode all I can hear is the motors. Print quality has not changed from that with the original bearings as some people have reported. I believe properly compressed bushings is the key to using the igus.
