Logging of virtual end stops, X axis?
I'm trying to help a friend debug his MK3S, which worked fine until it had a massive print failure. (He says.) It's giving consistent "Selftest error: please check Axis Length, Axis X". This doesn't seem to happen at any specific spot on the X axis. The force needed to move the axis doesn't seem radically worse than the with the i3 at our maker space. I've lubed the bearings, adjusted the belt tension higher AND lower, to no effect.
In my troubleshooting efforts, I'm a BIG fan of "the truth is inside the box". That is to say, I look for a way to instrument the system so I can see what it is seeing on the inside. Otherwise we're just guessing.
1) Is there any way to observe the torque value in real time, or to see a log entry when the torque limit in real time?
2) Is there any way to tune the torque limit value higher or lower?
3) Is there anything I've overlooked?

BTW, manual jog of X axis works fine.

Not that I am aware of, however the most common X axis issue, is the Cable tie 'nuts' being installed incorrectly, or mis placed since installation. have a look behind the extruder and check where the nuts are, at the ends of the X axis travel

OK, I took some time to carefully examine examine the wire ties, fabric loom covering, and everything else back there. Right now, NOTHING touches either side of the frame, other than the extruder body. The extruder cleanly and abruptly bumps into the Y bearing housings at either extreme of the range. So I am still kind of stumped.
I -do- notice that the error pops up AFTER reversing direction at the right-side end of travel. (The extruder comes back about halfway along the X axis, and THEN the extruder stops and the error message appears.)
