Location of custom slicer settings in prusaslicer linux appimage

I use Lubuntu, and have installed the prusaslicer appimage, to run my MK3S.

Now, I'm reinstalling linux and want to save all my customised slicer settings so I can reinstall them onto my new OS.

Can someone tell me where to find all my customised filament, printer, files, so I don't have to start all over again with a default appimage?

Many thanks

Dr Chris Kear

Most version of prusaslicer have their conf in ~/.config/prusa* and older ones were in ~/.prusa* if I remember correctly.

When in doubt, do

$ find ~ -iname "*prusa*"

The config directory moves around sometimes, look at the modification dates of the files.

edit: PrusaSlicer /not prusaslicer

The best thing to do to save all custom settings (not any system ones) is to start PS and use File>Export>Export Config Bundle or Export Config bundle with physical printers.  That will save an ini file contains ALL custom Print, Filament and Printer profiles.  You can then restore then using the Import config bundle from the file menu.  The export config option only exports the currently selected in use print/filament/printer profiles.

It wont contain any system profiles though so after reinstallation you would need to run through the config wizard once to get those back.

A config bundle is commonly used to save snapshots of profiles and move them from machine to machine.

If you want to know where all the config files are located then Help>Show configuration folder in PS is how to locate them.

@diem

Many thanks to you for your help.

Now, I can reinstall linux and not worry about all those hard-earned slicer settings!

One of the great thing about Prusa products is the community support.

Best wishes

Chris
