LCD Screen shows blank cells for a short time

Hi,

I have some strange behavior with my LCD screen. When I power ON my 3d printer after it was turned off for several hours, I get blank cells always at the same position (see screenshot). Then, if I let the printer ON for 20-30 minutes the blank cells disappear all by themselves.

I already checked the cables twice, and I don't think that's cable-related because otherwise I can't explain why it fixes itself after a moment being powered ON. Maybe it could be related to the temperature in the room ? It's 16-17 degree celsius. And it could explain why it does not happen while the machine is "warm".

Anyway, this does not have an impact on the printing or whatsoever, but I find it strange and I want to be sure it won't cause any harm to parts of the printer. So if anyone have an idea it would be greatly appreciated 🙂

That's an Original Prusa MK3S+

RE:

Have you tried a factory reset?  I would also make sure the ribbon cable is well seated on both ends.

I would say your guess about temperature is correct.  lcd's operation is temperature dependent, it is after all a liquid crystal display.  They can do strange things in low temperatures.   Electronics will warm up in use so if its not causing an issue I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Thank you for your answers. I already tried factory reset and disconnected/connected cables. So you think I should just let it that way as long as the problem doesn't become worst ?

It's not broke, and don't need fixing

Put down the magnifying glass and get back to printing 🙂
