LCD only showing black boxes

Hi, I just got finished assembling the MK3S that I received yesterday. I just turned it on so I could start going through the wizard and getting it ready for my first print. However, when I flip the power button the LCD turns on and it only shows 2 rows of black boxes. What can I do to fix this? I have tried to flash the newest firmware but it keeps failing as well.

Why on earth would you try to flash firmware into a non-working device?  For all you know you may have made a simple problem much worse, even bricked the printer.

Because I tried to do some of my own searching before posting here and that's what I found.  You basically calling me dumb doesn't help me in any way. Can't imagine it's bricked at all when the flash failed because it can't connect to the printer but if it's bricked then I buy the new parts.

Prusa has a CHAT service to help owners. Log in to the store, and the chat box is lower right. It takes a few mintes for them to respond, but they are generally helpful and if it is something less than swapped cables (common issue), they can warranty any parts they help you find that are defective.

Thank you. I tried to find the chat earlier and it turns out my ad blocker was blocking it. I'm chatting with them now. First thing they had me try was to flash the firmware.

Since you've already tried to flash and couldn't connect ... not sure why that'd be their first choice.  Be sure to share with them everything you've tried; in forums people will suggest you do things that sometimes really aren't helpful, and may even make things worse.  The old "don't fix what isn't broken" mantra.   But since the printer is new - home built - logic suggests a connection is out of place or a wire was damaged (a cable tie will cut wire, especially easy to do with ribbons and sharp laser cut aluminum).  ESD damage is also a possibility.
