Layer shift only when multiples of same model are printed

Printer Model: MK3s

Slicer: PrusaSlicer

I've read a fair amount on layer shift but I'm having an odd issue (at least I believe it to be odd).  I'm getting progressively worse shifting the more copies of an object I print at once.  In the image below, the far left is a single copy of the model, turned out pretty good.  The middle is two copies, you can see there's minor layer shifting.  The far right is four copies of this same model and you can see there's extreme layer shifting.  It's almost like the bed and/or head are getting too hot when there are multiples or something.  If I print a single over and over, they turn out fine.  I'm kind of at a loss of what would be causing this. Would love to hear what others thoughts are (and yes, I am quite new at printing, this is my first printer...so be kind 😀 )

More copies increases the risk of warped parts reaching up and grabbing the nozzle as it passes over perimeters. At least based on the photo above, that'd be the easy answer.  Improve adhesion by cleaning the bed or increasing bed temp, see if that helps.

Thanks, I’ll give that a shot. The interesting thing is when it shifts, all the pieces look pretty much identical, meaning the one that has four copies, all four copies have that same shift. Also when the prints finish, they are all still lined up properly and are still stuck to the bed.

...  all four copies have that same shift ...

When the nozzle snags something, the stepper motor(s) essentially stall, and the positioning system has then lost X number of steps. All subsequent printing is offset that value.  Only when the printer homes again is the true nozzle position relocated.

Ah, that makes sense. I was thinking by snagging you were suggesting that maybe the piece shifted.  Thanks

Well thats disappointing, I was under the delusion that the wizz Trinamic drivers could detect skipped steps.
