Is this hotend PTFE tube normal height?

tl:dr Does this PTFE tube height look correct, when inserted into the extruder assembly?

I was having issues loading filament, always resulting in a retract by the MMU2. Having experienced this before, I figured there had to be some filament stuck in the hotend PTFE tube. Upon inspection, I found a piece stuck in the PTFE tube.

I also noticed that the top of the tube was not visible at all. Whereas upon the upgrade to the MK3S+ MMU2 I was able to see the very top of the PTFE tube under the bondtech gear, now I was unable to see it.

I elected to partially disassemble the extruder to inspect the hotend PTFE tube. The top of the tube was damaged so I grabbed a spare I purchased a while back, double checked it was the correct Length: 42.3 mm  and inserted it following the instructions.

When I attempted to place it into the assemble, it looked like it was too tall for a groove in the assembly? I don't recall this prior, so not sure if this is correct?

According to these instructions, the tube does indeed protrude above the heat sink.

44.3mm should be the correct length.
