Is there a Slic3rPE tutorial on "supports"?
I'm throughly baffled and dazzled by the settings in PrintSettings/SupportMaterial. I've been very careful never to need/use supports [so far] with my Mk3, but now I'm going to print some things that'll need at least some supports added. The only other time I've encountered supports was 5 or 6 years ago with a MakerBot and all I can remember is two things a) there was no way to turn it off or tweak it, and b) it was an ungodly pain "finishing" a print that was filled with supports. [in the things I've done so far I've gone out of my way to limit the slope to 45° :)]
What I'd love to find was some sort of beginner's tutorial that explained all of the settings for manipulating supports and how you decide what settings are betst [in general, and perhaps for a specific project]. Thanks!

Re: Is there a Slic3rPE tutorial on "supports"?
Just find something that looks hard to print and turn on supports. And there are a few threads and blogs on the Prusa site that discusses Slic3r PE supports, especially the newer support modifiers - which can be useful.
There is a setting in Slic3r that took me a while to find, on the Print tab, Support Material, Overhang Threshold. 0 is sometimes useful (automatic). And the value seems inverted to me: 10 means support overhangs that are 80 degrees from vertical (almost parallel to the bed).

This video covers a few helpful support features in Slic3r PE.

Just wondering if the custom support slic3r 1.42 alpha 3 as per this link
have been or are likely to be implemented in PE slic3r.
Cheers
