IR Sensor wiring error on self test

I recently upgraded the firmware on my MK3S+ to 3.12.0. On completion I ran a self test and got an error on the IR sensor that said there was a wiring error and the sensor is not detected. I had no problems prior to the update. The wiring is correct connected to the EINSY board. All three wires in the sensor cable have continuity from one end to the other. I swapped out the IR sensor for a new one but get the same result. Is there anything else I can check?

RE: IR Sensor wiring error on self test

Have you tried downgrading the firmware to your prior, working version?

I realize this is counterintuitive, but there have been numerous bug reports from users of 3.12.0. This is the first I’ve heard of this particular issue so if you downgrade and the IR sensor works as expected, you may have discovered another issue with the firmware.

If this turns out to be the case, please report it on the GitHub site.

Cheers

Thank you RandyM9. While preparing to downgrade as you suggested I realized that I had flashed my i3 MK3S+ with the MK3 version of the firmware. I have flashed the printer with the correct firmware and everything works fine, imagine that 🙂

Thanks
