i3 mk3s - x-axis clicking

I've had my printer for a few weeks now, It's been printing great but the last few prints there has been an odd clicking in the x-axis. I've only done about 40 hours of printing at this point, all the nuts on the motor seem to be tight and I notice it seems to get worse when I loosen the x-axis belt.

Any suggestions?

Start with the most obvious stuff like the set screws on the motor pulley. Those are hard to overtighten, just make sure you don't got full hulk and round out the alen hole. I suspect these the most.

Do you have a belt tension value you can provide?

Does holding your finger/squeezing the tensioner area dampen the noise? What about if you hold your finger on a rod or bearing? Sometimes a little pressure can help you find a creak or loose part.

I had a bearing die on my y-axis that manifested in a similar noise to this except mine sounded a bit quieter...however, who knows how your audio is being played back relative to the real thing. It kind of looks like the bottom bearing is oozing a bit more lubricant than the top one. The faulty y-axis bearing on my printer did something similar. If you do replace bearings, consider these: https://www.123bearing.com/bearing-LBBR8-2LS-HV6-SKF.php

They're super pricey, and arguably no better than just replacing cheap ones until you find a good mix but it may be worth the peace of mind. I replaced my Y-Axis bearings with these and so far so good: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IK4J8QA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks in gonna order a bearing and try and replace it. I'm noticing the clicking getting worse as I test. All the bolts are tight and pressure doesn't seem to relieve anything. The oozing however does seem to be getting worse. Will post once I've replaced the bearing.

Side note: how would I get a tension reading?

You could try moving the gear farther out the shaft. And remember the FLAT-FIRST rule when tightening the gear. Loosen both set screws so the gear spins freely: align on screw with the flat and tighten until it mates securely with the shaft, torque to spec. Then tighten and torque the second jam screw.

And silly question: any chance the noise is coming from somewhere else? Filament or cable harness and transmitting down the rods? Clicking is a common filament issue. So are noises as the nylon cable support binds and twists at he top of the EINSY case.
