how to set nozzle and bed temperatures?

I'm trying to print with PETG for the first time. I think it needs 240 & 60 degrees but it keeps defaulting to 215 & 60 when I try to print. I've gone into Setting/Temperature/Nozzle and entered 240 but it won't stick. What am I missing?

You haven't provided a lot of information but where did the g-code come from. Generally the nozzle and bed temperatures are set - or re-set as needed by the g-code. So g-code built for PLA will set the nozzle temp to around 215C while g-code built to print PETG will set the nozzle to around 240C.

I was trying to print the Pi zero frame from the Prusa printable parts files as per these instructions.  https://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/0.+Preparing+necessary+components/585?lang=en
I thought these should be printed with the same material as the rest of the printer. Now that I look at the file name it does say PLA. I'm just a newbie.

Yep, it was probably sliced with PLA as the filament instead of PETG.  You can check the GCODE for the file at:

http://gcode.ws/

and on the GCODE tab of that webpage the filament is shown at the top near line 23 - 25  and also at the very bottom of the GCODE it will tell you the filament profile used.
